Suspected thief butchers fisherman to death after stealing his son’s phone at Apam

 


A suspected thief has butchered a fisherman, Mr. Kwame Panin,60, to death after he stole the deceased’s son’s phone.


This sad incident happened at Apam in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region today.

It was reported to that, a niece to the deceased was on errand by his father to withdraw money from his mobile wallet(MoMo).


On her way to withdrawing the money from the phone from Mobile Money Operator, the young girl was attacked by these thieves. They snatched the phone from the girl and ran away, but unfortunately for the thieves, one of them cell phone fell on the ground while they were running.

The young girl picked up the suspected thief’s phone and went home to tell his father what has happened.


Few minutes later, the suspected thief interestingly came to the girl’s house to demand for his phone.


However, the deceased fisherman and his son (girl’s father) attempted to arresting and sending the suspected thief to the Apam police.


During the struggling, the suspected thief pulled out a kitchen knife, pushed back Mr. Kwame Panin (now deceased) and stabbed his chest multiple times.


The victim was rushed to the Apam government hospital but died shortly after arrival.


His body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy and preservation.


Apam police has launched investigation into the matter. The suspect is on the run as at the time of filing this report.
